Join an international panel of people living with HIV and clinicians as they discuss the concept of the “fourth 90” and whether long-acting antiretroviral agents and regimens may play a role in helping people living with HIV achieve this goal of improved quality of life. After many years in which daily oral therapy with 3 agents was the only recommended approach for the vast majority of people living with HIV, in recent years the armamentarium for HIV management has expanded to include additional options that are safe and equally effective. Patient-reported outcomes indicate that eligible people living with HIV may appreciate the opportunity to avoid the potential inconvenience and daily reminders of their HIV status that are associated with daily oral dosing and instead receive a long-acting regimen less frequently. The symposium will have a strong focus on hearing first-hand from people living with HIV with experience of these agents and will also consider the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing long-acting ART in healthcare settings.
