Evidence of efficacy, safety, and patient preference for long-acting injectable (LAI) HIV treatment suggests that this regimen has the potential to address HIV treatment gaps.  However, given current satisfaction with standard of care oral regimens, the extensive use of decentralized models of care in LMICs and implementation considerations, it is crucial that LAI ART addresses critical unmet needs and closes the gap for persons with HIV (PWH) who are at highest risk of suboptimal treatment outcomes. In this satellite symposium we will explore questions regarding the use of LAI ART to improve treatment outcomes for PWH at high risk of virological non-suppression: including adolescents and youth, those with unstable housing and key populations.  Speakers will discuss implementation considerations, identify unanswered questions, and suggest areas for future implementation research.
