Countries are preparing to expand their HIV prevention method mix by adding dapivirine vaginal ring (DVR) and long-acting injectable cabotegravir (CAB-LA), also introducing a range of programming opportunities and complexities. Since 2016, Jilinde has supported Africa's first national-level introduction of oral PrEP in Kenya, designed as a learning laboratory to document and share implementation in a real-world context, through facility, community and pharmacy distribution models. On a global level and over the same period, the Prevention Market Manager (PMM) worked to accelerate introduction of HIV prevention products, using oral PrEP programs as a foundation for better delivery, uptake and outcomes. PMM demonstrated that user-centered, collaborative, and comprehensive approaches are essential to deliver new PrEP methods faster and better. Jilinde and the PMM partnership yielded a comprehensive framework for accelerating DVR and CAB-LA introduction that will be presented.
