The session exemplifies the value of integrated care, innovative service delivery, and targeted interventions in achieving better health outcomes and promoting health equity for persons living with HIV (PLHIV). (1) In the INTE-Africa trial (in Tanzania and Uganda), blood pressure control is compared between integrated management and standard care clinics. Integrated care clinics, providing combined care for HIV, diabetes, and hypertension patients, show some improvement in blood pressure control. treatment equity. (2) In Tanzania's Mwanza region, Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) services are successfully scaled up, achieving 97% of the annual target for women living with HIV. (3) Nigeria's pilot experience integrating hepatitis C virus (HCV) and HIV services demonstrate significant expansion of HCV screening and treatment among PLHIVs. (4) The study in Uganda reveals that over half of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) are willing to access HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) from community pharmacies, potentially promising improved PrEP access for this population. Overall, these findings underscore the value of integrated care and targeted interventions for better health outcomes and health equity.

These studies shed light on the importance of addressing diverse health needs within the context of broader public health, emphasizing the potential of integration and localized interventions for achieving equity. However, the limitations of certain interventions, such as non-significant differences in blood pressure control among some patient groups, were acknowledged. The session also highlights the need for context-specific approaches, considering factors like awareness, access, and willingness to adopt new services. Overall, the session showcases the potential of integration for better health outcomes and emphasizes the significance of tailored approaches to meet diverse population needs. Moving to scale remains a challenge.
